Alexander Avanesov: "Energy for countries of Central Asia is a key factor of development"
Issyk-Kul oblast, September 12 / Kabar /. For countries of Central Asia the energy is one of the key factors of development. UNDP Resident Representative in Kyrgyzstan Alexander Avanesov told today at the Third International Forum Energy for Sustainable Development.
He noted that countries located in this region have a great potential for cooperation. "This year is declared by the UN General Assembly the International Year of Sustainable Energy. This is very important because today more than one billion people lack access to electricity, which is a big problem for them. In Central Asian countries energy sector is growing rapidly, increasing the capacity", A. Avanesov said.
But, nevertheless, he believes that it will be important to consider and discuss how to solve the issue of access to energy, energy efficiency, energy conservation in Central Asia.
