Bishkek, Dec. 15, 2017 / Kabar/. President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Zheenbekov received today Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, Chairman of the Russian part of the Kyrgyz-Russian intergovernmental commission Arkady Dvorkovich,the press service of the Kyrgyz President reported.
The sides exchanged views on the prospects for trade and economic cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Russia, on the implementation of joint investment projects, on the intensification of cooperation between the regions of the two countries.
Zheenbekov, welcoming Dvorkovich, who took part today in the sixth interregional Kyrgyz-Russian conference in Bishkek, stressed that holding these conferences has become a good tradition in bilateral relations.
"Politically, there are no problems between Kyrgyzstan and Russia. Russia has been and remains a strategic partner of Kyrgyzstan. We need to support the efforts of the regions to work together and implement specific projects. We are interested in increasing the volume of supplies of products from Kyrgyzstan to the regions of Russia," the head of state stressed, expressing his gratitude for attention to the issues of development of trade and economic cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Russia.
The Russian Deputy Prime Minister congratulated Zheenbekov on his election to the post of the president of the Kyrgyz Republic, noting with satisfaction that he made his first foreign visit to the Russian Federation. Dvorkovich stressed the readiness of the Russian side to deepen cooperation with Russia, including trade and economic ones. As he said, the next meeting of the Kyrgyz-Russian interregional conference will be held in Chelyabinsk, Russia.
