BISHKEK, Aug. 10, 2017. /Kabar/. State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Aibek Omokeyev met with the Country Director of the World Food Program (WFP) Ram Saravanamuttu, in connection with the completion of his mission, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
During the meeting, the sides discussed the priority areas for cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and WFP, including the results of the activities of Ram Saravanamuttu as the WFP Head in the Kyrgyz Republic for the last 4 years. The sides also exchanged views on the provision of assistance by WFP in the process of implementing the national Taza Koom project, in particular on issues related to ensuring sustainable development of rural areas and improving the living conditions of rural people in the Kyrgyz Republic.
Omokeyev positively evaluated the long-term fruitful cooperation and assistance provided in the development and implementation of joint projects to strengthen food security in Kyrgyzstan, and expressed hope for the continuation of further cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and WFP.
At the end of the meeting Omokeyev thanked Saravanamuttu on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic for the work done in Kyrgyzstan as the head of WFP and wished success in his future activities.
