Bishkek, July 4 / Kabar /. US Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Sheila Gwaltney completes her diplomatic mission in Kyrgyzstan, the Ambassador said yesterday in Bishkek at a reception on the occasion of the celebration of the US Independence Day.
“After thirty three years of service to my country, the majority of which has been abroad, I have decided to move back to my family and my home state of California. It has been an incredible honor to represent the President of the United States as the U.S. Ambassador to the Kyrgyz Republic. Love of family is a value important to both the Kyrgyz and American people, so I know you will understand my reason for returning home,” she said in her speech.
The Ambassador said that she will depart the Kyrgyz Republic in a few weeks and emphasized that the tremendous hospitality and kindness of the Kyrgyz people will always stay with her.
“I will miss you all, but I know that you understand the importance of being close to loved ones. Wherever I am, whatever I do, Kyrgyzstan will always be in my heart,” she said.
US Senate approved Sheila Gwaltney as Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan in August 2015.
