A decision has been made to move Turkmenistan’s Parliament members to apartment blocks in the Olympic village.

At the Cabinet session held on 11 April President Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov instructed the khyakim of Ashgabat to prepare the required documents and make sure the Mejlis members and officials of ministries and agencies move to residential houses available on the territory of the Olympic village.

It should be emphasized that apart from several stadiums and sports arenas the Olympic village also includes residential blocks for athletes designed to accommodate 12 000 people.

Let us recall that $5 billion was spent from the Turkmen budget to construct the Olympic village.

After hosting the Asian Games in September 2017 the President chargedthe government with the task of reorganizing the Olympic village to set up the training centre for the National Institute of Sports and Tourism based on its facilities.
