Bishkek, Feb, 5, 2018 / Kabar/. Skier Tariel Zharkymbaev will carry the flag of Kyrgyzstan at the Winter Olympics in Korea, the press service of the State Agency for Youth, Physical Culture and Sports of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
Winter Olympic Games-2018 will begin on Feb. 9 in the South Korean city of Pyeongchang. The national team of Kyrgyzstan also takes part in these Games, and the country will be represented by two skiers - Yevgeny Timofeyev in alpine skiing, and Tariel Zharkymbaev on cross-country skiing.
In order to participate in the Games in Korea, 21-year-old Tariel Zharkymbaev took part in five competitions throughout 2017 - the Universiade, the Asian Games, the Russian Open Championship, tournaments in Kazakhstan and Italy. In Pyeongchang Zharkymbaev will perform at the sprint distance of 1.6 kilometers.
The second member of the national team of Kyrgyzstan Evgeny Timofeev also has good experience.
Skiers left for Korea on Sunday.
