Bishkek, Oct.29, 2019. /Kabar/. Yesterday, Oct.28 Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh Dastanbek Dzhumabekov received Ambassador of Japan to Kyrgyzstan Shigeki Maeda.
Speaker Dzhumabekov, on behalf of the Kyrgyz Parliament and on his own behalf, congratulated Shigeki Maeda on assuming the office of Ambassador of Japan to Kyrgyzstan and wished him success in his work.
“Kyrgyzstan attaches particular importance to strengthening and intensifying bilateral cooperation with Japan in all areas of mutual interest, particularly in the areas of economy, culture and tourism,” Dastanbek Dzhumabekov said, noting that the potential for cooperation in economy, especially private entrepreneurship, has not been fully realized.
“Our country is interested in attracting investments and increasing trade and economic cooperation between entrepreneurs of Kyrgyzstan and Japan. I am confident that your professionalism, knowledge and rich experience in the field of foreign trade will contribute to the deepening and expansion of bilateral economic relations,” the Kyrgyz speaker said.
In turn, Japanese Ambassador Shigeki Maeda expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and congratulations, and assured that he intends to make every effort to fulfill his obligations to further develop and strengthen the Kyrgyz-Japanese relations.
The sides also discussed promising areas of inter-parliamentary cooperation between the two countries and strengthening friendship between the peoples of Kyrgyzstan and Japan.
