The volume of gross domestic product in the period from January to August 2017 exceeded 282 billion soms, which is 6% more than in the same period last year, head of the department of economic statistics and national accounts of the National Statistics Committee Elvira Isenkulova told today at the press conference.
The indicators of Kyrgyzstan on increasing the volume of gross domestic product are due to the ramification and development of the industrial sector, the report said.
"The increase in GDP was influenced by the growth in production in the industrial and construction sectors. The largest share in the structure of GDP fell to the service provision industries, which accounted for 50% of the total. The share of the same industry was about 20%, agriculture - 12% and about 7% accounted for the share of construction, "Isenkulova said.
She noted that without taking into account the indicators of enterprises in the Kumtor field, GDP in January-August 2017 amounted to Som 253 billion and increased by 3.6%. The volume of industrial output amounted to more than 140 billion soms and by comparison with the same period last year increased by 26.4%.
"The growth of industrial output in the period from January to August 2017 was provided by increasing the extraction of metal ores, the production of basic metals, the production of rubber and plastic products, other non-metallic mineral products, food products, refined petroleum products, clothing, the country with electricity, gas, steam and air-conditioned air," Isenkulova explained.
At the same time, she added that for the mentioned period the production of paper products decreased in the production of the republic.
