Bishkek, March 6, 2018 / Kabar /. Russia plans to allocate another $ 10 mln for school nutrition in Kyrgyzstan, Mass Media Specialist of the United Nations World Food Programme ( UN WFP) in the Kyrgyz Republic Olga Niyazalieva told this.
Niyazalieva said that journalists will have a press tour to Novopokrovsky school No. 1 in Issyk-Ata district, where they will discuss plans of the Russian Federation’s expanded support of State School Nutrition Program in Kyrgyzstan and allocation of additional $ 10 mln.
Minister of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic Gulmira Kudaiberdieva, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Kyrgyzstan Andrey Krutko, Country Director of the UN WFP in Kyrgyzstan Andrea Bagnoli and representatives of the Institute of Branch Nutrition, Adviser of the Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Yulia Kalinichenko are expected to visit the school.
The program of the event includes a visit to the pilot Novopoka school No. 1, where along with 334 schools across the country, a program of hot meals for elementary school students is being implemented at this school as part of a joint project of the Ministry of Education of the Kyrgyz Republic and UN WFP to support the State School Nutrition Program in Kyrgyzstan.
Officials are expected to announce the continuation of the project to optimize the State School Nutrition Program and share with agenda for the next five years. It is planned to visit the catering facility equipped with modern technology, a school cafeteria, study and tasting the school menu, visiting school gardening areas, as well as communicating with students, parents and teachers of the school.
