Bishkek, Feb. 14 / Kabar /. In New York, US, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Dinara Kemelova met on February 13 with UN Assistant Secretary-General for Political Affairs Miroslav Jenča,, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports.
During the meeting the sides discussed prospects of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the UN, in particular the possibility of improving the electoral system in the country on the eve of the upcoming 2017 presidential elections.
The sides also discussed the issues of regional security in Central Asia, as well as preparation for the Forum on Conservation of the population of the snow leopard, which is scheduled in the third quarter of 2017 in Kyrgyzstan.
In conclusion Kemelova informed about the event on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the Bishkek Mountain Platform, scheduled to be held in December this year in New York, and also invited to take part in the event on the occasion of the Day of Social Justice, organized by the Kyrgyz side, together with the ILO in the UN headquarters.
