Priorities for cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and WFP discussed in Bishkek

Bishkek, April 11 / Kabar /. First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Dinara Kemelova met on Monday with the Country Director of the UN World Food Program in the Kyrgyz Republic Ram Sarawanamutta.

The press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported that during the meeting the sides discussed the priority areas of cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and WFP. In particular, the head of the WFP in the Kyrgyz Republic informed about the new WFP Strategic Program for 2018-2022 being developed. He reported on the implementation of the projects "Optimization of school nutrition" and "Strengthening the national social protection system and increasing the stability of communities" aimed at improving school nutrition and social development.

Kemelova positively assessed the long-term fruitful cooperation and assistance in the development and implementation of joint projects to strengthen food security in Kyrgyzstan, and expressed her hope for the continuation of further cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and WFP.
