Bishkek, May 2 / Kabar /. Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Zheenbekov visited on Monday the village of Zhalpak-Tash in Uzgen region of Osh oblast, where a landslide swept over 13 houses, as well as Kolmo village, where there is a threat of a landslide, the Government’s press service reported.
Governor of Osh oblast Taalaibek Sarybashev said that earlier all residents of Zhalpak-Tash village had been warned about the possibility of a landslide and moved to a safe place where they had 15 tents and a medical center.
Deputy Emergencies Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Ravshanbek Rysbaev informed that at present 62 houses, as well as four social facilities - school, kindergarten, mosque and paramedical and obstetric station are in danger zone.
The prime minister instructed to take all appropriate measures to provide assistance to local residents and ensure their safety.
He also emphasized the importance of insurance of property, in conditions when many residential houses of citizens are in the zone of threat of natural disasters.
The prime minister also stressed that residents of settlements located in hazardous areas should listen to the opinion of experts of the Ministry of Emergency and local government leaders who warn citizens in advance about the danger of a landslide.
The head of government also inspected the Kolmo section, where there is a danger of a landslide due to accumulated water and instructed the Ministry of Emergency Situations to monitor the area and determine the degree of threat to the population and make calculations for installing a pipe to drain the accumulated water mass.
In addition, Zheenbekov inspected the plot of the land, which will be allocated for the resettlement of villagers, who live in areas where there is a threat of landslides.
In total 15 thousand people live in areas of threat of a landslide.
