Bishkek, March 3 / Kabar /. Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Zheenbekov today, 3 March, met with Ambassador of Japan to the Kyrgyz Republic Yoshihiro Yamamura on the occasion of the beginning of his diplomatic mission in the country, the Kyrgyz government’s press service reports.
The Prime Minister congratulated Yoshihiro Yamamura on his appointment as Ambassador of Japan to Kyrgyzstan, he expressed confidence that as a result of his activities the bilateral relations will come to a new level and receive an additional impetus for further development.
"We are grateful to the Government and people of Japan for the assistance rendering to Kyrgyzstan since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. We appreciate the friendly relations with Japan. During the years of cooperation with Japan a number of projects were successfully implemented in Kyrgyzstan in the sphere of transport and communications, agriculture, education and other sectors. It is important to note that the projects implemented jointly with Japan in Kyrgyzstan are of high quality and efficiency," said Zheenbekov.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the experience of Japan, as the parliamentary country is attractive for Kyrgyzstan.
"Kyrgyz government attaches great importance to the development of cooperation with the democratically developed countries, including Japan, whose experience is of particular interest in building a parliamentary democracy for the Kyrgyz side. Kyrgyzstan also seek to strengthen and develop the parliamentary system of government, given the fact that the way to achieve this goal has been long," Zheenbekov said.
At the same time, the Prime Minister stressed the important role in the implementation of the assistance of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), aimed at the development of infrastructure, agriculture and training. He added that in this respect there is a certain success of cooperation - through the grant program of the Government of Japan in training civil servants (JDS) since 2007.
The Japanese diplomat said that Kyrgyzstan and the whole Central Asia is an important region for Japan to cooperate.
