Bishkek, Feb. 27 / Kabar /. Creation of technology towns for textile and clothing production in Bishkek city and Chui region will create about 15 thousand new jobs, this became known at a workshop chaired by Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Zheenbekov to discuss the project "Technology towns for textile and garment production."
The press service of the Kyrgyz Government reports that, the Prime Minister stressed the importance of creating favorable conditions for the development of production and export of textile and garment production and creating new jobs.
Sooronbay Zheenbekov said that at the moment the land for construction of technology towns is already allocated in Bishkek and Chui oblast.
"Textile and clothing industry is one of the largest one in national economy. In overall industry volume the share of the country's textile and clothing production is more than 3%. This industry is socially-oriented and resource-intensive in terms of labor utilization that promotes employment. Today, the industry employs more than 150 thousand people," said Zheenbekov.
At the meeting, President of Legprom Association of light industry enterprises Saparbek Asanov said that the initiative on the construction of technology towns for textile and clothing production is primarily aimed at supporting the domestic light industry and export-oriented companies. This will also meet the needs of not only external but also the internal market in products of domestic enterprises under the brand "Made in Kyrgyzstan".
The Prime Minister instructed the relevant state bodies to intensify work in this direction and to accelerate the implementation of the project.
Recall that in October 2016 the Government supported the initiative of Legprom Association on the implementation of the investment project "Technology towns for the textile and garment production."
