Prime Minister: Kyrgyzstan's GDP in 2016 grew by 3.8%

Bishkek, April 8 / Kabar /. Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbai Zheenbekov met with the delegation of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission led by Edward Gemayel, the press service of the Kyrgyz Government reported.

At the meeting, the sides exchanged views on strengthening the country's economic indexes, improvement of legislation in banking, financial and credit spheres, as well as long-term and short-term tasks of the Government for further sustainable development of the republic's economy.

The sides emphasized the importance of attracting foreign investments and consolidating the state budget, through the creation of an equitable tax system and optimization of budget expenditures.

Prime Minister Sooronbai Zheenbekov stressed with satisfaction that as a result of actions taken by the Government and other government bodies, the country's economic indicators improved, in particular, the share of industry in the country's GDP increased.

"In general, Kyrgyzstan's GDP in 2016 grew by 3.8%.," the Kyrgyz prime minister said.

Sooronbai Zheenbekov said that the Government, taking into account the achieved results, will continue implementing a comprehensive program of economic and social reforms, at the same time he said that the revival of domestic production is one of the priority areas.
