Bishkek, Aug. 21, 2017 /Kabar/. Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Zheenbekov resigned. He stated it today at a government meeting.
"I am resigning due to the fact that I run for presidency. I do not have the moral right to hold this post. Today, I will give my application to the President of Kyrgyzstan, "he said.
Also, Zheenbekov said that during the government's work under his leadership the tasks were fulfilled. He noted that the Cabinet did not interfere in the political processes and only dealt with the economy.
Today the Central Election Commission registered Zheenbekov as a candidate for the presidency. He is a candidate for president from the SDPK party.
The presidential elections in Kyrgyzstan will be held on October 15, 2017.
