Bishkek, Dec. 22, 2017. /Kabar/. President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Zheenbekov signed the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic "On Ratification of Grant Agreements between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) on the Sector Development Programs: Skills for Inclusive Growth" (Grant No. 0552-KGZ and Grant No. 0553-KGZ), signed in Bishkek, Dec. 13, 2017 ", the President's Office press service reported.
The law was passed by Kyrgyz parliament on Dec. 21, 2017.
The above-mentioned Program contains activities aimed at supporting and carrying out key reforms to strengthen Kyrgyz Technical and Vocational Education (TVE) in Kyrgyzstan. The actions outlined in the Policy Matrix of the Sector Development Programs: Skills for Inclusive Growth define reforms in three areas: strengthening the management and financing of TVE to support key sectors of the economy, improving the quality of teaching and learning conditions, expanding cooperation with production and developing entrepreneurial skills.
The ADB provides a grant of $ 12 million for the TVE development to support the national budget and $ 18 million for implementation of an investment project of the Program Implementation.
The funds are provided by the ADB on a free of charge basis in accordance with the investment plan of the Program. The law is subject to official publication and comes into force from the date of signing.
