Bishkek, Dec. 26, 2017. /Kabar/. President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Zheenbekov met today with Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Sagintayev during his official visit to Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz president’s press service reported.
At the meeting, the sides exchanged views on topical issues of Kyrgyz-Kazakh cooperation and prospects for further cooperation within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union.
Zheenbekov noted with satisfaction the meeting with President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev and thanked the Kazakh side for paying close attention to the issues of bilateral cooperation.
Sagintayev congratulated Zheenbekov on his election to the presidency of Kyrgyzstan and noted the joint work with him when Sooronbai Zheenbekov was the prime minister of Kyrgyzstan. "You have worked for a year and a half as Prime Minister and are very familiar with all issues of bilateral cooperation. The governments of the two countries will continue to cooperate on all relevant issues. The Kazakh side is committed to timely and prompt resolution of all issues, including within the framework of the implementation of the road map. Our President Nursultan Nazarbayev always emphasizes that Kazakhstanis have no closer people than Kyrgyz people," Sagintayev said.
The sides touched upon the implementation of the signed "road map" and stressed the need to resolve all issues so that the peoples of the two countries felt the benefits of joining the EEU.
The sides also discussed issues of rational joint use of water structures and resources.
At the end of the meeting, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Sagintayev wished President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbai Zheenbekov success and a fruitful trip to Moscow, where today, on December 26, an informal meeting of the Heads of State of the CIS will be held.
