Bishkek, Apr. 13, 2018. / Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov paid a working visit to Brussels, Belgium on Apr. 11-12, 2018 to the institutions of the European Union, the Kyrgyz President's press service reported.
The Kyrgyz President arrived in Brussels after his official visit to the Republic of Turkey.
During the visit, Jeenbekov met with the European Union's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federico Mogherini, Chairman of the European Parliament Antonio Tajani, Chairman of the European Council Donald Tusk.
In addition, within the framework of the visit, the President Jeenbekov met with chairman of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker and made a statement to the press after the meeting.
Within the framework of the visit, the priority areas of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the European Union, cooperation on the issues of observance of human rights and freedoms, the rule of law, as well as attracting advanced European investments to priority sectors of development of Kyrgyzstan were discussed.
During the visit, the President also met with His Highness Prince Karim Aga Khan and Managing Director of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development for Russia and Central Asia Natalia Khanzhenkova. The prospects of partnership were discussed to implement joint projects aimed at the development of the regions of the country.
A two-day working visit of the Kyrgyz President to the institutions of the European Union completed on Apr. 12.
