Bishkek, April 21 / Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev met on Friday with Minister of Emergency Situations of the country Kubatbek Boronov, the Kyrgyz President’s press service reported.
During the meeting, President Atambayev was informed about the implementation of preventive measures to protect against emergencies in certain regions, caused by the intensity of precipitation. The minister reported that in connection with threats that arose as a result of the rise of the water level in the Kara-Unkur and Kok-Art Rivers, he inspected the course of bank protection works in the these areas.
Boronov said that rapid response headquarters are established everywhere in the republic, and the units of the Ministry for Emergency Situations jointly with local authorities take the necessary measures to prevent emerging threats.
President Almazbek Atambayev instructed the Ministry of Emergencies to take exhaustive preventive measures to ensure people's safety. He stressed that the Ministry should strengthen monitoring and forecasting for timely taking measures to prevent emergencies and avoid risks of flooding of residential areas.
