Asian Wrestling Championship kicks off in Bishkek

Bishkek, Feb. 27, 2018 / Kabar /. The official opening of the Asian Championship in Wrestling was held at Kojomkul Sport Palace in Bishkek.

Solemn event began with a musical note, followed by a parade of teams-countries.

The welcoming speech was made by Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Sapar Isakov.

"On behalf of the Government, I welcome the participants and guests of such a significant event. I congratulate on this grandiose holiday, I also express my gratitude to international partners who entrusted us to host the Asian Championship in our country," Isakov said.

In addition, the Head of Government stressed that the wrestling in Kyrgyzstan is a priority sport that is rapidly developing. "The number of wrestlers in the country reaches 20 thousand. This is a good figure for our population and this is not the limit," the Prime Minister added.

The tournament will last until March 4.
