Bishkek, March 2 / Kabar /. The opening of one of the largest mosques in the Kyrgyz capital named after Mahmud Kashgari was held on Saturday in Bishkek.
The solemn event was attended by chief of the President’s Office of Sapar Isakov, chairman of the Council of Muftis of Russia Ravil Gainutdinov, Mufti of Muslims of Kyrgyzstan Maksatbek azhy Toktomushev, Mayor of Bishkek Albek Ibraimov, deputies of the parliament, as well as the citizens of the republic.
Organizers of the ceremony said that, the construction of the mosque is financed by the public fund Ilshat.
The mosque was named in honor of Mahmud Kashgari one of the largest experts in the history of Turkic literature, who gained world fame by collecting the Turkic dialects or the Turkic encyclopedia.
