Monument to victims of plane crash opened in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Jan. 13, 2018. /Kabar/. Opening of a monument in honor of the victims of the plane crash is held in the village of Dacha-Suu in Chui oblast.

The opening ceremony was attended by relatives and friends of the deceased, first deputy chief of the President’s Office of Kyrgyzstan Muhammetkaly Abulgaziev and members of other state bodies.

Abulgaziev expressed his condolences to the families and friends of the people who died in the plane crash. He reminded that the assistance to the victims was provided from all over Kyrgyzstan. It was provided by both by children and pensioners.

He said that from the first minutes of the announcement of the crash, the leadership of the country took personal control of the issue of providing assistance to the victims, a government commission was set up. All victims were promptly provided with assistance and support.

"This tragedy once again showed the unity and friendship of the people of Kyrgyzstan. Nobody was indifferent to the incident. Some brought hot food, others - warm clothes, children shared their toys, retired people gave their pensions. We thank everyone for their sympathy," Abulgaziev said.

He also stressed that a person's life does not cost any money, but, nevertheless, since there was a disaster, compensation should be paid.

"The airline paid the money to all the victims. There is no discontent by the victims," he concluded.

In addition, representatives of the Turkish Embassy in Kyrgyzstan came to pay tribute to the victims.

The cargo plane Boeing-747-400F of ACT Airlines (MyCargo), which made a flight from Hong Kong to Istanbul crashed on Dacha-Suu village, not far from Manas airport.

As a result of the plane crash, 39 people were killed: 4 crew members were citizens of Turkey and 35 citizens of Kyrgyzstan. January 17, 2017 was declared a day of mourning.
