Bishkek, Sept. 5, 2017 / Kabar /. "I am sincerely grateful for the invitation to visit friendly Kyrgyzstan. Until this day, since the Soviet era, we have been getting closer as we could," Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said during a narrow format meeting with Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev during his state visit to Kyrgyzstan.
He said that there were many questions that have been solved over 25 years, but not as necessary.
"The spirit of our Samarkand meeting has laid the foundation for the relationship and from that day we began to cooperate and talk. And all these meetings opened the way. The peoples of the two countries have been waiting for this day for years," he said.
The head of the neighboring state said that the first visits of delegations from Andijan to Osh and back from Kyrgyzstan to Uzbekistan became a historic moment.
"Great Chyngyz Aitmatov said, these are peoples who are united by blood and speak the same language. This says everything. The strategy of our state is a rapprochement with our neighbors. Kyrgyzstan is a strategic partner for us," Mirziyoyev added.
