Bishkek, Feb. 1 / Kabar /. Deputy Minister of Culture, Information and Tourism of the Kyrgyz Republic met on Tuesday with world famous Italian-Polish reporter-explorer Jacek Pałkiewicz and Honorary Consul of the Republic of Poland in the Kyrgyz Republic Alexander Zlatkin, the press service of the Ministry of Culture of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
During the meeting the sides discussed the organization issues of one of the stages of the international project "New Silk Road - 2017" on the territory of Kyrgyzstan.
Polish reporter Jacek Palkewicz presented his project of an international expedition "The New Silk Road - 2017" and shared his extensive experience in various international expeditions.
Speaking about the project, the explorer said that the aim of the expedition is to expand and develop economic and cultural relations between the countries along the Silk Road. During the expedition its planned to conduct a symbolic cultural and commercial exchange, visit historical and cultural monuments, hold conferences, meetings, lectures, and as a result to publish a photo album and two books, to release a documentary about the expedition and 7 short documentaries about each of the countries along the route.
Also Jacek Palkewicz stressed that the route of the expedition will run from China through Kyrgyzstan, then through Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus and Poland. The total length of the route will be more than 10 000 km.
IDeputy Minister of Culture Ainura Temirbekova stressed the importance of the popularization and promotion of historical and cultural heritage of the Great Silk Road, which will be a significant contribution to the development of international relations, strengthen mutually beneficial international cooperation in the framework of the Chinese One Belt, One Road initiative, as well as sustainable development of tourism in Kyrgyzstan and in the region.
Following the meeting, it was agreed that the Ministry of Culture will support the expedition by providing access to the monuments related to the historical and cultural heritage, which are included in the list of UNESCO world cultural heritage.
Also, the Ministry will provide information support during the period of the expedition on the territory of Kyrgyzstan.
