Minister of Economy discusses with Turkish Ambassador Investment opportunities

Bishkek, March 6, 2018 / Kabar /. Minister of Economy of Kyrgyzstan Artyom Novikov met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkey to Kyrgyzstan Kamil Jengiz Fyrat.

During the meeting the Minister stressed the growth of trade turnover between the countries, the press service of the Ministry of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic reported. "Let me emphasize that the trade turnover between our countries in 2017 increased by 26.7% compared to 2016 and amounts to 356 mln soms. That remarkably increased the volume of both imports and exports," the Minister said.

Whereas, the Ambassador specified that many large companies are ready to invest in the economy of Kyrgyzstan. "There are five companies that want to invest in mining industry. The Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency (TIKA) is ready to invest in regional projects, since 2018 was declared as the Year of Development of Regions by the President of the Kyrgyz Republic," Kamil Jengiz Fyrat said.

"We are ready to meet with your companies at any time to discuss investment opportunities and provide every assistance in implementing plans for joint implementation," Novikov said.

The Minister also said that Kyrgyzstan should be considered not as a market of one state, but as a market within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), whose population is more than 150 million people.

During the meeting, the Minister and the Ambassador talked about investment opportunites in development of livestock, meat processing industry, as well as attracting investments to airports of Bishkek and Osh.
