Bishkek, March 15, 2018. / Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov met today with President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev on the sidelines of the first summit of Central Asian leaders in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz President's press service reported.
Nazarbayev, greeting Jeenbekov noted that after the last meeting with the president of Kyrgyzstan, all bilateral issues were resolved, the Road Map is working.
"We believe that everything will be fine in the future. You met with the Presidents of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, all this is done for the well-being of peoples. Today, the heads of five states will meet, who have an opportunity to discuss issues of economy, trade, infrastructure and logistics," Nazarbayev said.
Jeenbekov thanked Nazarbayev for the invitation to participate in the Consultative Meeting of Central Asian leaders, as well as for the warm welcome and hospitality provided.
The President of Kyrgyzstan noted that the common tasks facing the two countries dictate the need for joint efforts to confront modern global threats and challenges in the region, and create a favorable climate for the free movement of citizens, the movement of capital, investment and labor.
"Today's meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asian countries in Astana is truly historic, and I express great confidence that it will play a key role in building relations between the countries of the region and will determine the main areas of cooperation for the near future. For my part, I want to reaffirm my commitment to earlier agreements and to strengthen a trustful dialogue between our countries. I am sure that those issues that are on the agenda today will be resolved in the interests of our states and for the benefit of our peoples," Jeenbekov said.
