Bishkek, March 16 / Kabar /. Media expert, director of Kabar News Agency Kubanychbek Taabaldiev speaking at today’s open dialogue of media communities in Bishkek proposed to introduce in Kyrgyzstan a Code of Conduct for Journalists.

“In the whole world, where there is freedom of speech, there is a Code of Journalists. Once there was an attempt to introduce this code, but it did not succeed. But today it's just necessary. Today there are two Unions of Journalists in Kyrgyzstan: official and independent. There is nothing wrong, but they do not develop in one direction,” he said adding that each organization must have a code, which includes code of conduct, a code of ethics for journalists, a journalist's culture code and professionalism.

The media expert said that among young journalists there is no deep understanding of journalistic standards. “They do not have the concept of news presentation, and are often in the hands of those who have no honest intentions,” he said.

Taabaldiev said that there are such media where there is no balanced opinion. “Every citizen need to be a patriot of his country. And journalists should be neutral, and only after that they will be objective," he said.
