Kyrgyzstan’s team won 17 medals at Islamic solidarity games in Baku

Bishkek, May 22 / Kabar /. The team of Kyrgyzstan took the 10th place in the medal standings of the Games of Islamic solidarity in Baku (Azerbaijan), according to the information published on the official website of the Games.

Kyrgyzstan, with 17 medals - 4 gold, 5 silver and 8 bronze medals, took the second place after Uzbekistan, which has 62 medals: 15 gold, 17 silver and 30 bronze. Kazakhstan has 19 medals –2 gold, 5 silver and 12 bronze. Turkmenistan has 12 medals - 2 gold, 4 silver and 6 bronze medals. Tajikistan team did not participate in the Games.

The VI Islamic Games were held from 12 to 22 May with the participation of athletes from 54 countries.

Kyrgyzstan’s gold winners are Yuri Krakovetsky (100 kg) in judo, Kanybek Zholchubekov (59 kg) in Greco-Roman wrestling, Muslim Yevlayev (74 kg) in freestyle wrestling and Aisuluu Tynybekova (58 kg) in women's wrestling.
