The economic growth of the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) in 2017 has recovered, First Vice Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Tolkunbek Abdygulov said during the round table "Results of the presidency of Kyrgyzstan in the EEU: new vectors for the development of the Eurasian integration in the spheres of economy and security".
She reminded that in 2017 Kyrgyzstan presided in the EEU and President Almazbek Atambayev identified priority areas. The main task, according to Abdygulov, was the deepening of economic integration and the removal of barriers to mutual trade with partners in the EEU.
"In addition, priority areas have been identified. First, it is the activation of investment policy. Second, the signing of the agreement on the provision of pensions for workers and their families in the countries of the EEU. Third, the adoption of the strategy for the formation of the digital space, the fourth, the implementation of the main areas of cooperation and further liberalization of markets and services in the EEU. Fifth, the implementation of the main directions in industrial cooperation and coordination of transport policy," he said.
Abdygulov said that over the two years of Kyrgyzstan's membership in the EEU the republic has become a full member of the union.
"At the end of the first half of 2017, the inflation rate in the EEU countries made 3.5%, and in Kyrgyzstan - 2.8%. Economic growth in the countries of the alliance is recovering, which resulted in an improvement in the turnover indicators," he added.
