Bishkek, Feb. 23, 2018 / Kabar /. Prime Minister Sapar Isakov instructed governors of oblasts together with the Ministry of Economy to develop medium-term development programs for the regions for 2018-2023 at a government meeting where the results of the socio-economic development of the country for 2017 and the results of two years of the country's membership in the EEU were considered.
He said that in accordance with the decree of the President on the announcement of 2018 - the Year of Regional Development, the considerable efforts in 2018 will be directed to the development of regions that provide for the improvement of the well-being of the population, the economic condition of the regions, the creation of a competitive investment and business environment.
Isakov also said that the economic growth in 2017 exceeded expectations. "I would like to especially note the leading positions of the republic in terms of the growth rate among the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union. Positive growth rates remain in all sectors of the economy," the prime minister said.
"According to the approved forecast, the country's economic growth in 2018 should reach 3.6%. Taking into account the results of 2017, we must maintain stable economic growth and ensure the fulfillment of all the forecast indicators," Isakov said.
