Bishkek, Feb. 5, 2018 / Kabar /. Kyrgyzstan improved its position in the Economic Freedom Index - 2018 released by the Heritage Foundation. Kyrgyzstan ranked 78th moving from 89th.
Among the neighboring countries, Kazakhstan has the best indexes by ranking 41st, Tajikistan is located in the 106th line, Uzbekistan occupies 152nd position.
Kyrgyzstan's rank is ahead of such countries as Russia (107th ), Belarus (108th), Ukraine (150th) and Turkmenistan (169th).
Leaders are Hong Kong, Singapore and New Zealand.
Cuba, Venezuela and North Korea are in the last positions.
Launched in 1995, the Index evaluates countries in four broad policy areas that affect economic freedom: rule of law; government size; regulatory efficiency; and open markets.
The index of economic freedom is based on 10 categories:
1. Business freedom,
2. Trade freedom;
3. Tax burden;
4. Freedom from a government;
5. Monetary freedom;
6. Investment freedom;
7. Financial freedom;
8. Property rights;
9. Freedom from corruption;
10. Labor freedom
