Bishkek, April 13 / Kabar /. Kyrgyzstan should switch to the Latin alphabet since 2040, member of the Kyrgyz Parliament Kanybek Imanaliev told today at a meeting of the parliament.

He said that the day before President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev declared that since 2018 Kazakhstan is switching to the Latin alphabet. "We also must switch sooner or later. We do not have the means now, but we must train specialists. Of course, we must not give up the Cyrillic alphabet - it is our intellectual wealth. But since 2040, Kyrgyzstan must also switch to the Latin alphabet. We cannot resist the world flow," Imanaliev said.

Also, the parliamentarian noted that the government already now needs to start work in this direction.
