Bishkek, April 8 / Kabar /. The Kyrgyz Republic attaches great importance to the development of bilateral relations with the Republic of Austria, Oleg Pankratov, the Vice Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic, said at a meeting with business representatives of the Austrian Republic, the Kyrgyz Government’s press service reported.

"For the Kyrgyz Republic, the arrival of a group of entrepreneurs representing the largest Austrian companies is a landmark event. Taking into account that both sides do not make full use of the existing potential, we need to look for specific points of contact that will facilitate the expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields, including in mutual trade. The trade turnover between our countries, which in 2016 made more than 8 million US dollars, should be increased. There are all the necessary prerequisites and legal basis for that," the Kyrgyz Vice Prime Minister said.

Representative of the Federal Chamber of Economics of the Austrian Republic Michael Angerer said that Austrian businessmen are interested in establishing long-term business contacts with their Kyrgyz counterparts.

"The first step in this direction has already been taken. A Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Kyrgyz-Russian Development Fund and the Austrian Control Bank. I am confident that this will give a new impetus to the development of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries. We are ready to implement projects that will benefit both sides," he said.

Vice Prime Minister Oleg Pankratov expressed hope that today's meeting between the businessmen of the two countries will become a guarantee of further close cooperation and cooperation aimed at achieving concrete results for the benefit of the peoples of two countries. “The Government of the Kyrgyz Republic is open to dialogue and will provide the necessary support and assistance," he said.
