Kyrgyz-Tajik business forum to be held in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Feb. 3, 2018. /Kabar/. Presidents of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov and Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon instructed the ministries of economy of the two countries to bring trade and economic relations to a new level. During the official visit of Jeenbekov to Dushanbe, the sides agreed to hold a joint business forum in Kyrgyzstan.

Minister of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic Artem Novikov said that today there is a very large potential for increasing trade and investment opportunities, and entrepreneurs of both countries express their readiness to build business with each other.

"If we manage to synchronize our efforts, I think that in the coming years we will see a significant growth rate of our trade turnover and development of trade and economic cooperation," Novikov said.

He also told about the signing by the heads of the republics of the Program for Trade and Economic Cooperation of Kyrgyzstan with Tajikistan, which provides for a wide range of opportunities for building and developing relations in this sphere.

"Today, Tajikistan imports a significant amount of goods that are produced in Kyrgyzstan, and just as many products are imported to Kyrgyzstan from Tajikistan. In view of this, we have every chance to achieve effective results in the export-import relation," the minister said.

During the bilateral meetings, the Kyrgyz delegation invited the Tajik side to consider the potential of free economic zones in the territory of Kyrgyzstan, as well as the possibility of establishing joint ventures with the prospect of entering the markets of the Eurasian Economic Union and the countries of the European Union, taking into account Kyrgyzstan's GSP + status

Recall, on Feb 1-2 Jeenbekov paid official visit to Tajikistan at the invitation of his colleague Emomali Rahmon, during of which the sides signed a number of agreements on the development and deepening of interstate relations.
