Bishkek, Feb. 6, 2018. /Kabar/. First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Dinara Kemelova met today in Bishkek with Special Envoy of the Swiss Confederation for Water Affairs Michel Mordazini, the press service of the Kyrgyz Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.
The meeting was also attended by Ambassador of Switzerland to the Kyrgyz Republic Véronique Hulmann.
The sides discussed the issues of Kyrgyz-Swiss cooperation in various fields, taking into account the similarity of Kyrgyzstan and Switzerland, including the prevention of natural disasters in mountainous areas and the development of mountain ecosystems. The problems of uranium tailings, the development of hydropower, as well as the integrated use of water and energy resources in the region were also considered.
First Deputy Minister Kemelova expressed gratitude to Switzerland for the support provided for sustainable development of Kyrgyzstan and noted the need to promote regional cooperation in the field of water use, taking into account the interests of all the states of Central Asia.
