Bishkek, Oct. 23, 2017 / Kabar /. The Kyrgyz have won nine medals, including one gold, two silver and six bronze medals at the world championship in grappling in Azerbaijan, the team coach Kenzhebek Chekirov told.
The World Championship among men and women in wrestling grappling and grappling-gi under the aegis of the United World of Wrestling (UWW) was held from October 18 to 22 in Baku. Representatives of about 25 countries took part in the tournament.
Kyrgyzstan was represented by 17 athletes. On the first day of competitions, juniors came to the start.
Kylymbek Mamytov became the world champion among juniors in the weight category up to 77 kg, in the same weight Azambek Shamshiev became the bronze prize-winner.
Also, Maksat Urmat uulu received silver medal in the category up to 62 kg, and Nursultan Zhusupaliev (up to 58 kg) won another bronze.
In addition, athletes Argen Ashirov in weight of 62 kg, in the same weight Nurmukhammed Narmanov, Nurbek Ismailov (100 kg) and Dostuk Zholdoshev in the weight category 84 kg became owners of the bronze medal.
Nurbek Ismailov won a silver medal in the competition among adults in the section Gi in the weight category up to 100 kg.
