Bishkek, March 14 / Kabar /. Speaker of the Kyrgyz Parliament Chynybai Tursunbekov met in Islamabad with Chairman of the Senate of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Raza Rabbani during the official visit, the press service of the Jogorku Kenesh reported.
During the meeting, the sides discussed a wide range of issues related to further development of both inter-parliamentary cooperation and bilateral relations in general.
Chynybai Tursunbekov stressed with satisfaction the absence of any disagreement between the two countries. He said that Pakistan is one of the countries of Asia where parliamentary democracy is successfully developing and Kyrgyzstan, which also chose the path of parliamentarism, is interested in experience in this field.
Touching upon the interparliamentary cooperation, the Kyrgyz Speaker stressed that the Jogorku Kenesh is interested in strengthening ties with the Senate of Pakistan, especially between the Committees and friendship groups. "This will allow us to have constant contact, to conduct a mutual exchange of opinions and experience in the process of building parliamentary system," he said.
Chynybai Tursunbekov added that the promotion of the entire complex of Kyrgyz-Pakistani ties directly depends on the current bilateral legal framework. In this connection, the Speaker drew Raza Rabbani's attention to ratification by the Pakistani side of a number of previously signed intergovernmental agreements.
In addition, during the meeting, an exchange of views was held on strengthening cooperation in the trade and economic sphere. The parties stressed the need to concentrate joint efforts to build up trade and economic cooperation.
In turn, Raza Rabbani noted that Pakistan pays special attention to the development of relations with Kyrgyzstan and expressed satisfaction with the evolving dynamics of mutually beneficial and fruitful cooperation between the two states.
