Kyrgyz Prime Minister wants to intensify digitalization of country's archival fund

Bishkek, Dec. 25, 2017. / Kabar /. "It is necessary to intensify the work on digitalization of our country’s National Archival Fund”, Prime Minister, Sapar Isakov said today at the opening of new building of Sokuluk District State Archive of Chui oblast.

In his congratulatory speech, the Prime Minister specified the special importance of proper organization of works on storage, digitalization, accounting and use of archival materials, the Government press service reported.

Isakov stressed that the new building of the Sokuluk District State Archive is now the first standard project of the archive buildings in the country that meets all modern requirements.

The Prime Minister emphasized that the government of the country will continue working on major reconstruction and construction of new buildings of state archives within the framework of the Emergency Action Program for the development of archival business in Kyrgyzstan for 2015-2019.

The head of government also specified that one of the priority areas of the state program Forty Steps to New Era is the preservation of documents representing historical, economic, political, social and cultural values for the country, as well as increasing the storage space for archival documents and replenishing the National Archive Fund of Kyrgyzstan.

Construction of the Sokuluk District State Archive new building was started in 2016. More than 24 million soms have been allocated from the state budget for these purposes. The new building consists of three floors, in which there are rooms for reception of citizens, archives, study rooms, a reading room and a conference hall for conducting training seminars.
