Kyrgyz Prime Minister and Iranian Foreign Minister discuss cooperation issues

Bishkek, April 19 / Kabar /. Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Zheenbekov met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad Javad Zarif, the Kyrgyz Government’s press service reported.

At the meeting, the issues of bilateral cooperation between the countries were discussed.

Sooronbai Zheenbekov emphasized that the Kyrgyz side pays the main attention to the implementation of agreements reached during the meetings of the top leadership of the two countries. They have become a political and economic platform for the promotion of the entire complex of Kyrgyz-Iranian cooperation, the prime minister said.

"Today, we are ready to implement joint economic projects, primarily in the areas of transport communications, processing industry, agriculture, energy, science and technology, food and light industry," he said.

The Kyrgyz prime minister expressed confidence that this visit of the Iranian Foreign Minister to the Kyrgyz Republic will be an important event in the development and strengthening of mutually beneficial comprehensive relations between the countries and will further strengthen the friendship between the peoples of Kyrgyzstan and Iran.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Zheenbekov for the opportunity to meet and for warm welcome. He noted the positive trend in the development of bilateral relations between the countries in recent years.

At the same time, Mohammad Javad Zarif stressed the importance of further development of regional cooperation between the countries along with intensification of trade and economic cooperation.

The Iranian Foreign Minister handed over to Sooronbai Zheenbekov the invitation of First Vice-President of Iran Eshak Jahangiri to pay an official visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran in 2017.
