Bishkek, July 4 / Kabar /. The delegation of the Jogorku Kenesh in the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly will take part in the annual summer session of the Assembly, which is held on July 5-9 in Minsk, the press service of the Kyrgyz Parliament reported.
The main topic of the session: "Strengthening of mutual trust and cooperation for peace and prosperity in the OSCE region". About 300 parliamentarians from North America, Europe and Asia will take part in the session to discuss and adopt resolutions on some of the most pressing current problems in the field of security, human rights, the economy and the environment.
The annual session, being the largest event in the work of the Assembly will take place for several days with speeches and debates at the highest level. The annual session will end with the adoption of the Minsk Declaration. This document will include recommendations for national governments, parliaments and the international community in the fields of security, economy, environment and human rights.
Expected keynote speakers:
President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko; Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich; Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Vladimir Andreichenko; Chairman of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Christine Muttonen (Austria); OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Austrian Foreign Minister Sebastian Kurtz.
The main items on the agenda will the fight against terrorism, climate change, migration and the strengthening of OSCE mechanisms to ensure respect for human rights.
During the session, the national delegation will meet with the OSCE PA President K.Muttonen to discuss the preparations for the 2018 autumn session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly in Kyrgyzstan and the results of the first assessment mission of the OSCE PA International Secretariat in Bishkek in March of this year.
The national delegation as coordinator among the delegations of the CSTO PA in the Assembly will hold a meeting with the delegations of Russia and Belarus to coordinate positions. In addition, the Kyrgyz delegation will participate as the founder of the newly established group in the Assembly from the countries of the Silk Road, initiated by the delegation of Azerbaijan.
