Kyrgyz parliament to convene for extraordinary meeting to elect new prime minister

Bishkek, July 27 / Kabar /. The deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh will meet in the second half of August for an extraordinary meeting to elect a new prime minister of Kyrgyzstan, MP Marat Amankulov told Kabar Agency.

He said that, the candidate from the SDPK party Sooronbai Zheenbekov, the current prime minister of the country has decided that from the moment he is registered as a presidential candidate he will go out of office. This is done so that there are no suspicions and words that the administrative resource is being used, and to put themselves in equal position with all candidates.

"In this regard, a meeting of the coalition of the parliamentary majority, and then an extraordinary session of the parliament will be held. Deputies will elect and approve the new prime minister of the country and, possibly, will approve the composition of the new government, "Amankulov said.

The deputy explained that by law the submission of documents to the CEC will last until August 1, then within 10 days there will be registration of candidates and approximately in the second half of August and an extraordinary meeting of the Parliament will be held.

Let's note, at a press conference in Cholpon-Ata, President Almazbek Atambayev said on Monday that the Prime Minister plans to deliver his post as prime minister after registering him as a presidential candidate.

The presidential elections will be held on October 15. At the moment, 39 candidates are applying for this post. Prime Minister Sooronbai Zheenbekov was nominated by the SDPK party.
