Kyrgyz Ministry of Internal Affairs arrests 11 active members of Hizb ut-Tahrir

Bishkek, Dec. 18, 2017 / Kabar / Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the State Committee for National Security during the joint work detained 11 citizens who are active functionaries of the Hizb ut-Tahrir extremist group.

The detainees lived in Bishkek, Chui and Issyk-Kul oblast. During the search of their homes, a prohibited literature of extremist content was found, the Kyrgyz Ministry of Internal Affairs press service reported.

“One of the leaders of the of Hizb ut-Tahrir religious extremist organization, the native of Osh region and temporarily residing in the village of Belovodskoye of Chui oblast was also detained” the police said.

At present additional investigative measures are being carried out. A criminal case is initiated.
