Kyrgyz migrants ask ombudsman to protect their rights

Bishkek, Dec. 8, 17 / Kabar /. The Kyrgyz diaspora in Moscow asked Ombudsman Kubat Otorbaev to open a representative office of human rights to protect migrant workers rights who are held in temporary detention centers for foreigners. This issue was raised during the meeting of Kyrgyz citizens with Ombudsman in Moscow, the Kyrgyz Embassy in Russia reported.

One of the key issues requiring an early solution at the state level was the resolution and overcoming of difficulties arising during the transportation of the "cargo 200". Only during the past month 27 dead bodies of our compatriots were sent to Kyrgyzstan.

Another important topic of discussion was the guarantees for children of migrants for education in pre-school, general education and higher educational institutions of Russia.

Ombudsman Otorbaev guaranteed that on all issues, he will send appeals to relevant authorities and try to provide maximum assistance in their implementation.

Otorbaev also visited a special detention center for foreign citizens in Sakharovo, where he got acquainted with the conditions of detention of Kyrgyz citizens. The Ombudsman had individual interview with every citizen here. There were no particular complain about the conditions of detention in this center.
