Bishkek, Jan. 20, 2018 / Kabar /. The meeting of Foreign Ministers of the countries of Central Asia and the USA in the C5 +1 format was held in New York, where the sides discussed regional security issues, the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported.
The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan E. Abdyldaev, Kazakhstan K. Abdrakhmanov, Tajikistan S. Aslov, Uzbekistan A.Kamilov, US Deputy Secretary of State J. Sullivan and the Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the United Nations in New York A .Ataeva took part in the meeting.
During the meeting, the sides discussed issues of ensuring regional security, countering terrorism, economic interaction, and exchanged views on the prospects for further joint work in the "C5 + 1" format.
In his speech, Abdyldaev stressed the need to use this site with an emphasis on the development of relations between the countries of Central Asia and the United States, as well as the economic development of the Central Asian region.
The United States and five Central Asian countries - Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan - have created a new format in 2015 for C5 + 1 interaction to discuss issues of regional cooperation.
