Kyrgyz and Iran FMs discuss cooperation within the framework of Kyrgyzstan's membership in EEU

The issues of Kyrgyz-Iranian cooperation within the framework of Kyrgyzstan's membership in the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) were discussed at a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, Foreign Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Erlan Abdyldaev said today at a press conference following a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister, who arrived in the country for official visit.

Abdyldaev said that during the meeting with the Iranian Foreign Minister they discussed the whole range of Kyrgyz-Iranian relations. "Today's meeting was held in a warm atmosphere. During the talks, they discussed the implementation of the agreements, which were reached during mutual visits of presidents of the two countries. We believe that the results achieved during these negotiations are a very important platform for the further development of the entire complex of development of Kyrgyz-Iranian relations," the FM said.

He also said that Kyrgyzstan is interested in developing relations with Iran in the field of transport, processing, agriculture, food industry and new technologies.

The sides also discussed the increase in mutual trade turnover between the two countries.

"It should be noted that during the talks we discussed issues of cooperation within the framework of Kyrgyzstan's membership in the EEU. Iran is also interested in cooperating with us, because within the framework of Kyrgyzstan's membership in the EEU, Iran will have new opportunities for entering the Union's markets," the minister said.
