Kyrgyz Ambassador in Morocco and Kuwait discussed bilateral cooperation with ISESCO

Bishkek, April 3 / Kabar /. Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the State of Kuwait and the Kingdom of Morocco Zhusupbek Sharipov held a meeting with Director-General of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) Dr. Othman Altwaijri on March 31 during his working visit to Morocco.

The press service of the Foreign Ministry reported that during the meeting Sharipov and Al-Tuvejri discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and ISESCO. The parties discussed in particular the promotion of issues related to the implementation of projects in the Kyrgyz Republic in the field of education, science and culture, the creation of an effective mechanism for cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and this organization.

Sharipov told about measures being taken by Kyrgyzstan to develop cooperation with OIC and ISESCO, on the activities of the Yiman Foundation, as well as on activities carried out within the framework of the Year of Morality, Education and Culture, announced in the Kyrgyz Republic. He stressed the need to intensify the interaction between Kyrgyzstan and ISESCO and suggested considering new projects with a view to their implementation in the Kyrgyz Republic.

In his turn Othman Altwaijri supported the proposals on activation of interaction and expressed readiness to assist in the implementation of previously considered, as well as new projects. At the same time, he recommended using the existing capabilities of the organization and called for more active participation in ISESCO activities.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to organize the visit of the Director General of ISESCO, Dr. Othman Altwaijri to Kyrgyzstan in the near future to determine the priorities for cooperation.

ISESCO is an authoritative organization (the Muslim analogue of UNESCO), which includes 53 OIC member countries. The headquarters of the organization is in Rabat. The Kyrgyz Republic has been a member of ISESCO since 1996.
