Dushanbe, Feb. 2, 2018. /Kabar/. Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov’s official visit to Tajikistan has completed today. As part of the trip, the head of state held meetings with President Emomali Rahmon in a narrow and enlarged formats.
The two sides made a joint statement following the talks and noted their successfulness.
The presidents discussed issues of intercountry cooperation, including work on demarcation and delimitation of state borders. Through a constructive dialogue, they came to the conclusion that they would continue to resolve this issue on legal grounds.
In addition, the heads of two neighboring countries instructed the economic departments to work on a program to increase trade.
The presidents agreed and signed agreements on deepening cooperation in the medical, educational, cultural and humanitarian spheres, as well as to continue work to ensure regional security.
Jeenbekov's visit to Dushanbe lasted two days, from 1 to 2 Feb. He received an invitation from an official visit from Rahmon in a congratulatory message on the occasion of his victory in the presidential election in late October 2017.
At the end of the bilateral meetings, Jeenbekov invited his colleague to visit Kyrgyzstan with a return official visit at any time convenient for him, to which Rahmon agreed.
