Jeenbekov, management of Rotobo Business Association discuss prospects of investment co-op

Bishkek, Oct.23, 2019. /Kabar/. Today, Oct. 23 Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov met in Tokyo with management of the Roboto Japanese Business Association.

The exchange of views on the prospects of investment cooperation and improvement of interaction between business circles of Kyrgyzstan and Japan took place, the press service of the President said.

The Rotobo representatives noted it is an honor for them to meet with the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, spoke about the work done to expand investment cooperation and economic activity in the CIS member states, countries of near and far abroad.

The company’s management noted with the satisfaction Kyrgyz-Japanese Business Forum, held in Bishkek in February 2018, which was attended by more than 100 large entrepreneurs of the two countries, and an exhibition of Kyrgyz agricultural products, held in Japan in February 2019.

“Kyrgyz honey was also presented at the exhibition, which amazes with its taste and naturalness. We are interested in the development of economic exchange between the countries. We are confident that our meeting will give an additional impetus in this direction,” said the members of the Rotobo Association.

As a successful example of Kyrgyz-Japanese cooperation, President Jeenbekov named the implementation of the One Village-One Product project of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), which is being implemented in Kyrgyzstan’s Issyk-Kul Oblast.

“With your support, Kyrgyz entrepreneurs participate in various exhibitions in Japan and establish links with Japanese business circles. Kyrgyzstan is making efforts to increase its export potential and is interested in working with Japan in this area,” Jeenbekov stressed.

He also shared plans to hold another Kyrgyz-Japanese Business Forum in 2020, adding that today Kyrgyzstan is actively working to support small and medium-sized businesses and create an even more favorable investment climate.

The Rotobo Japanese Business Association was founded in 1967 and promotes the development of business cooperation with the CIS countries, as well as countries of near and far abroad.

Members of Rotobo are more than 200 enterprises of different industries, banks, stock companies, industry associations, agencies for passenger and cargo transportation, as well as local governments.
