Bishkek, March 14. 2018. / Kabar /. Presidents of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Jeenbekov and Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbaev will hold bilateral talks within the framework of the Summit of Central Asian leaders in Astana, chief of the foreign policy department of the President’s Office of the Kyrgyz Republic Daniyar Sydykov told reporters.
He said that during the meeting Jeenbekov and Nazarbaev will discuss issues of Kyrgyz-Kazakh relations, which gives a positive impetus to mutually beneficial cooperation on all bilateral issues.
The upcoming meeting is held at the initiative of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who made such a proposal at the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly in Sept. 2017. This initiative was supported by all countries of the region. Kazakhstan suggested holding the first summit in Astana.
The date of the five-party talks is timed to the days of Nooruz celebration in Kazakhstan.
